A Gobi travel always leaves unforgettable impressions: mirage, fascinating mountain ranges, foothills with deep gorges, oasis with lush green meadows, magnificent sand dune fields at sunset, camels and cattle herders.

The Gobi Desert is also famous for important fossil findings, including prehistoric remains and petrified objects like the first dinosaur eggs discovered. Mongolian sand dunes are covering an area almost as large as the territory of Belgium. We are going to visit sand dune Khongor Els, the longest sand dune of the Gobi desert: Khongor Els has an extraordinary length of 180 km and is up to 20 km wide.

Ar- and Uvurkhangai provinces are located in the center region of Mongolia. It includes World Heritage Center Orkhon Valley and numerous archaeological remains of the nomads. And the site of the ancient capital city of Chinggis Khan – Kharkhorin – the center of what was the largest Land Empire the World has ever known.

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar

The day of your arrival. Our tour guide shall pick you up from the airport  and transfer you to the hotel. Sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar and have a nice dinner at a restaurant.

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar – Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Today we shall start our journey toward Gobi and stay at  Baga Gazriin Chuluu. It is a very beautiful place with rock canyons which you might feel as if you are on a different planet.

Day 3: Baga Gazriin Chuluu – Tsagaan Suvarga

In the morning we continue our journey further South to see the Tsagaan Suvarga, a place with white stupas.

Day 4: Tsagaan Suvarga – Yol Valley

Today we will go further to visit the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park which is located in the beautiful mountain range.

Day 5: Yol Valley – Khongoryn Els sand dune

Khongoryn Els sand dunes are called by locals as Singing dunes. They are 180 km and 15-20 meters wide land with breathtaking view.

Day 6: Khongoryn Els – Bayanzag

Gobi is a mecca for paleontologists. Many dinosaur fossils were found from Bayanzag. The American paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews named Bayanzag as “Red Cliff”.

Day 7: Bayanzag – Ongi Monastery

The road leads us today from the Gobi out in the valley of the river Ongi to Ongi monastery. At sunrise we will visit the monastery.

Day 8: Ongi – Talbiun Lodge

After breakfast we will head to the Talbiun Lodge of upper Orkhon Valley, located in the beautiful countryside of Khaalgan Denj of Khujirt Soum, Uvurkhangai province.

Day 9: Talbiun Lodge – Tuvkhun Monastery – Talbiun Lodge

Today we drive to the Tuvkhun monastery, which lies on the mountain Tuvkhun. We can either ride a horse or walk up to the mountain and enjoy the magnificent views.

Day 10: Nomad day at Talbiun Lodge

This day we stay in Talbiun Lodge and get pampered by the Talbiun Lodge staff.

Day 11: Talbiun Ger Lodge – Orkhon waterfall – Tsenkher Hot Spring

Today we drive to the famous waterfall of Mongolia which was formed from the volcanic eruption and earthquakes.

Day 12: Tsenkher thermal spring – Khorgo & Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park

We drive through one of the most beautiful landscapes of Mongolia and reach towards Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake in the evening.

Day 13:

Rest day at the White Lake

Day 14: Khorgo & Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park – Kharkhorin

Today we will visit Kharkhorum and go to Kharbalgas, a town ruins dating from the 8th / 9th century, where Mongolian-German archaeologists are working on excavations.

Day 15: Kharkhorum

We visit the Erdene Zuu monastery , which was rebuilt under the command of Khalkh-Prince Abtai-Khan, on the rubble of the ancient capital city.  It is the first major lama monastery in Mongolia on 1586.

Day16: Kharkhorum – Khustai National Park

After breakfast, drive to Khustai National Park. It’s a home of Przewalski’s wild horses and Mongolian Takhi.

Day 17: Khustai National Park – Ulaanbaatar

Last day of trip which we will  have the opportunity to make the last errands, shopping, souvenirs, etc.

Day 18: Departure
