Terelj National park
Terelj was first developed for tourism in 1964 and 30 years later it became part of the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. To the north-east, the park joins into the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area, comprising over 1.2 million hectares of the Tov, Selenge and Khentii aimags. The Khan Khentii park is almost completely uninhabited by humans, but it is home to endangered species of moose, brown bear and weasel, to name but a few, and to over 250 species of birds.
The distance from Ulaanbaatar is nearly from 50 km. Its green meadows carpeted with Edelweiss and a dazzling variety of other wild flowers attract nature lovers. Typical round rock masses determine the look of the overwhelming nature. It is a wonderful hiking and horse riding area. You can visit a nomad’s family or just let yourself be absorbed in the silence of nature.
At 1600m, the area is cool and the alpine scenery is magnificent, and there are great opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, swimming, horse riding. Most visited places are the Turtle Rock and the dinosaurs park.
Location: Our camp Suvdan Aral (Pearl Island) is located in the Terelj National Park, 75 km east from Ulaanbaatar, a beautiful location in the Khan Khentii mountain range. Our camp is outfitted with authentic Mongolian furniture and provides the visitor with a first hand experience of our Mongolian way of life.

Terelj National Park Tourism Attractions & Activities
The Orkhon Valley National Park is named after one of the longest rivers Orkhon river in Mongolia. In 1235 Genghis Khan founded the capital of Mongolia in the Orkhon Valley, which served as the administrative centre for the Mongolian imperium at that time, stretching from the Pacific to the Mediterranean Sea.

Ecosystem: There are many interesting places along the way to Terelj, beautiful rocks stones carved by nature herself in the form of a tortoise or sleeping giant, wonderful cave, rivers with crystal pure water, thick forests, wild animals. Visitors can take leisurely strolls on green meadows carpeted with edelweiss and a dazzling variety of other wild flowers and wander along the wooded banks of a mountain stream.
Plants and Animals: Terelj national park is home to a plethora of insects, fish, birds, mammals, and even reptiles. Birds include various eagles, falcons, and cranes. Mammals include the brown bear, wolf, lynx, wolverine, sable, moose, various deer, boar, marmot, and lemming.
Terelj includes over 1200 species of vascular plants. Flowers abound both on mountainsides and in the valleys, with peak blooming season occurring mid to late July.
People: Although sparsely populated, the park is also home to nomadic Mongolians, offering you a chance to interact with the authentic people of Mongolia – hospitable, gracious and welcoming.
Terelj River: The Terelj River flows through Terelj Nationl Park. This river takes its sources from Asralt Khaikhan mountain of Khentii range and its rapid stream after 70 km flows in to the Tuul River.

Activities: Walking, cycling and horse riding cross the Terelj river. It is also amazing to cross the river branches with bare foot, read books and relaxing on the grass near the river.
Turtle Rock:
Great slabs, crack and potential sports routes. Almost everything that you put your hands on can be first ascent. North of the Turtle rock, there several walls (4-5 pitches), have not been climbed previously. Rock formation: Monolith granite, very similiar to Joshua Tree National Monument, maybe the crystals are little larger.

Aryabal Temple: The 13th century’s Chinggis Khaan’s conquers in Tibet made the relationship closer to Buddhism and his sons proclaimed the Buddhism as a main Religion of Mongols.Terelj National Park and visit Aryabal Meditation temple*-, free walk around temple are and see Turtle rock, cave and a rocky hillside overlooking a beautiful valley.

We have 6 comfortable gers. A Ger can be arranged with 4 beds depending on the booking.
We have 2 grand wooden houses, each house has 4 rooms and 3 person can stay in a room.

Shower/Toilet/Sauna:
We serve our guests with shower and sauna (on request). 24 hours of electricity and all gers are equipped with lights and power sockets.
